Mission Australia is dedicated to empowering individuals to drive positive change in their lives. As a Residential Counsellor, you will be part of a dynamic team providing assessment, treatment and intervention services to young people struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Provide individualised counselling to young people participating in the program
* Facilitate group therapy sessions using evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
* Develop and implement drug education and psycho-education programs
* Respond to mental health emergencies and provide support as needed
* Assess client needs and develop case management plans
* Lead ongoing counselling and support for high-risk clients
Requirements for Success
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or Allied Health and registration with relevant professional body
* Proven ability to work with homeless and disadvantaged youth, including understanding of substance misuse
* Current NSW driver's license class C
* Demonstrated computer literacy and strong communication skills
* Evidence of full COVID-19 vaccination
