SAS Solution Designer

About the role:
An opportunity exists for a Solution Designer with advanced expertise in SAS, SQL, and modern data platforms. This role is pivotal in designing and implementing robust data solutions for credit risk and banking operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and deliver reusable enterprise data products across sourcing, design, data quality, and deployment.
* Identifying the need for, creating, and overseeing the delivery of common enterprise components that improve the delivery and maintainability of data products.
* Define end‑to‑end data solutions across platforms including SAS, Azure, Hadoop/Big Data, Teradata, Informatica, and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
* Partner with Credit Risk stakeholders, Service Owners, and Tech Leads to define, prioritise, and manage delivery backlogs.
* Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and design principles.
* Work with business teams to understand credit risk data, metadata, and lineage.
* Guide Agile teams through full‑lifecycle delivery using modern DevOps and full‑stack practice.
Required Experience:
* 3+ years in credit risk or banking environments.
* 10+ years' experience delivering large‑scale data engineering solution
* 5+ years' hands‑on experience with advanced SQL and SAS, including data manipulation and cleansing using Base SAS, SAS Macros, SAS DI Studio, SAS Enterprise Guide, and SAS Management Console.
* Strong experience across big data and modern engineering stacks, including Hadoop, Spark, Hive, HBase, Python, Java, Spring Boot, Git, Flink, Cosmos DB, Akka, Scala, and Synapse.
* Solid background in data warehousing, modelling, and integration tools such as Informatica and Sterling.
* Familiarity with BI tools (IBM Cognos/TM1, Power BI, Tableau).
* Proven experience designing and delivering solutions on cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
* Experience supporting risk models and analytics using tools such as SAS RFW, SAS Risk Stratum, SAS Viya, and Azure Machine Learning.
* Hands-on experience with DevOps pipelines, particularly Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
What's on offer?
This contract is available for an initial 6-month term with likely extension on a long term project. Located in Sydney, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement.
