Job Overview
The Facilities Worker plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment within and on the grounds of our facilities. This includes performing routine cleaning and minor maintenance of buildings and grounds.
1. Clean areas including walls, windows, ceilings, floors, carpets, air vents, furniture, mattresses, blinds, and washrooms using various manual and power cleaning equipment.
2. Perform laundry duties as required.
3. Collect and dispose of refuse and maintain clean refuse areas; perform spot clean-ups as needed.
4. Use specialized chemicals and apply sound judgment and proper PPE to disinfect and sanitize washrooms and high-touch areas.
5. Clean areas that are potential bio-hazards, ensuring the use of proper PPE.
6. Maintain and clean parking lots and sidewalks using hand and powered equipment.
7. Perform minor maintenance on buildings, grounds, furniture, electrical fixtures, and plumbing.
8. Set up furniture for functions and meetings, maintain various logs, key registers, and assist in taking inventory.
9. Secure buildings by arming alarms and locking doors and windows as necessary.
10. Maintain the appearance of floors in assigned areas.
11. Develop a basic working knowledge of all site systems and equipment.
12. Work cooperatively with other staff and independently as required.
13. Maintain a professional yet compassionate relationship with family members and residents.
14. Perform other related duties as required.
