We keep communities connected.We are hiring a Casual Traffic Control Room Operator for the Peninsula Link Control Room in Frankston South to support us in filling shifts as required. Peninsula Link is a 27km, freeway standard, dual carriageway facility with interchanges and grade separations extending from the Mornington Peninsula Freeway and EastLink Interchange.In this role, you will provide control room operations through 24-hour monitoring to ensure that the asset remains free of hazards and that the customer experience is maintained through the flow of traffic and minimisation of disruption. We also offer access to novated leasing.Paid leave - Parental, cultural, community service, study, corporate volunteering and purchased leave available.Culture – We are dedicated to fostering a workplace environment that values diversity and inclusion, and we recognise and celebrate excellence throughout the year.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform duties of the Control Room Operator in the 24-hour 7-day week operation of the control room when on roster.Monitoring the asset and identify congestion, using the correct surveillance systems.Providing a professional level of customer service to the client with regard to the daily operations and incident management.Initiating incident and emergency response processes in accordance with the procedures and rosters taking the lead in ensuring that all incidents are responded to in accordance with the contract requirements.Reporting and document all incidents, accidents, complaints and equipment failure.Assisting the Control Room Manager in the execution of operations activities in compliance with procedures.Actively monitor and respond to alarms associated with the ITS.Identifying assets which require corrective maintenance and initiate process in accordance with the operating guidelines.Participating in the response to unplanned incidents.Proactively managing the lane availability compliance.Proactively managing all relevant KPI’s for the Peninsula Link Control Room.Managing the Afterhours Hazardous call for VRMC.About YouOur ideal candidate will have:Minimum three years’ experience in similar role (Traffic Management or Control Room Environment).Undertake control room duties in accordance with the Freeway Operations Manual and supporting processes.Ability to proactively raise any opportunities to improve the control room operations, customer service and road safety.Current Drivers Licence.Current First Aid desirable.Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Good written and verbal communication skills.How To ApplyPlease submit your interest with the apply button where you will be directed to create a profile on our system.
