Job Title: Sexual Health Nurse Specialist
Avoidable pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections are a significant health issue in our community. As a Registered Nurse, you will be part of our dedicated team working to provide quality sexual and reproductive healthcare services to the people of Lismore and its surrounding areas.
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled nurse to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team at Northern Rivers Community Gateway. Our organisation is committed to delivering inclusive care that respects individuals' autonomy and promotes positive health outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse passionate about providing patient-centred care in sexual and reproductive health. You will be responsible for conducting pregnancy tests, counselling clients, dispensing oral contraceptives, and providing telephone information and referral support.
As a Sexual Health Nurse Specialist, you will be required to work effectively with colleagues from various backgrounds, maintaining high standards of clinical practice and adherence to professional codes of conduct.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting pregnancy testing and counselling sessions
* Following up abnormal pathology results and coordinating client callbacks
* Dispensing oral contraceptive repeats as necessary
* Providing telephone information and referral support to clients
* Maintaining clinical rooms according to established hygiene and infection control protocols
* Collaborating with GPs on IUD insertions
* Participating in service improvement activities and attending team meetings
Requirements:
* CURRENT AHPRA/NMBA REGISTRATION AS A REGISTERED NURSE IN NSW
* EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS - BOTH VERBAL AND WRITTEN
* PROFICIENT COMPUTER SKILLS WITH EXPERIENCE USING MEDICAL SOFTWARE
* ABILITY TO WORK EFFECTIVELY AS PART OF A TEAM
