To main their standard of excellence, they are seeking a proficient, and qualified Engineering Technologist who will ensure delivery of highest quality that meet and exceeds the rigorous expectations of their national client base.**About the role:**The Engineering Technologist will apply engineering technology principles to lead in the development, improvement, and documentation of mechanical designs, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and manufacturing requirements.1. **Salary:** Offered in the range of $75k to $85k plus superannuation per annum.2. **Location:** Kilkenny, SA3. **Tenure:** Fulltime and ongoing**The responsibilities of the position will include:**1. Developing complex 3D CAD models and assemblies, ensuring parametric integrity and functional integration of mechanical components.2. Performing applied engineering calculations (stress, tolerance stacks, and kinematics) and selecting materials based on mechanical properties and environmental performance.3. Leading the review and optimization of mechanical designs to improve efficiency, manufacturability (DfM), and cost-effectiveness.4. Approving detailed 2D engineering drawings and technical data packages (TDP) to ensure strict adherence to **AS 1100** and relevant Australian manufacturing standards.5. Providing high-level technical guidance to technicians and drafting staff, ensuring the engineering intent is maintained throughout the design process.6. Managing comprehensive design reports, engineering change orders (ECOs), and validation test reports to maintain project traceability.7. Acting as the primary technical liaison between engineers, clients, and fabricators to resolve complex design-to-production bottlenecks.8. Designing and overseeing prototype development, reverse engineering workflows, and product validation testing protocols.9. Producing assembly drawings, exploded views, and detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and production.10. Converting conceptual sketches, legacy data, or client briefs into standardized CAD models and production-ready documentation.11. Undertaking advanced technical courses and staying updated on emerging technologies, regulations, and industry codes of practice.**You should be able to demonstrate the following attributes and strengths to be considered:**1. Highly relevant bachelor's degree or higher in a related Engineering field.2. At least 1 or more years of verifiable relevant professional experience preferably in the field of product design.3. Proficiency in relevant technical skills, engineering software, tools, and technologies for producing manufacturing-ready engineering drawings and documentation.4. Experience and proficiency in 3D CAD software, 3D modelling, reverse engineering, estimating BOMs, fabrication processes, machining techniques, and assembly design principles.5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.6. Excellent communication skills, patience and empathy.7.
