More About The Role
We're on the lookout for an experienced Account Director to join our Corporate team at Burson, leading a portfolio of B2B tech clients while playing a key role in driving new business and growth across the agency.
This is a senior, client‐facing role suited to someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, reputation, and commercial impact. You'll lead complex corporate accounts, partner closely with senior stakeholders, and bring a sharp understanding of how communications drives business outcomes in the B2B and technology space.
Alongside leading day‐to‐day client strategy, you'll play a critical role in new business – from shaping pitch strategy and narratives through to identifying opportunities and converting growth.
You'll be part of a high‐performing corporate team, working across integrated campaigns that span earned media, executive profiling, issues and reputation management, and strategic advisory, with exposure to some of the most dynamic and fast‐evolving sectors.
What You'll Do
* Lead end‐to‐end client strategy and delivery across B2B tech and corporate accounts
* Act as a senior trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic counsel on reputation, positioning, and communications approach
* Drive new business efforts, including pitch development, narrative creation, and identifying growth opportunities within existing and new clients
* Oversee integrated campaigns spanning media, digital, thought leadership, and executive visibility
* Mentor and lead junior team members, uplifting capability and ensuring high‐quality output
* Build and maintain strong senior media relationships, particularly across business and technology press
* Contribute to agency‐wide thinking, bringing forward ideas that align to Burson's growth priorities
* Ensure strong commercial management across accounts, including forecasting, resourcing, and delivery against KPI
Experience that Contributes to Success
* Significant experience in corporate communications / PR, ideally at Account Director level or equivalent
* Strong background in B2B and/or technology clients (essential)
* Proven experience leading client strategy and managing senior stakeholders
* Demonstrated success in new business – including contributing to and winning pitches
* Strong understanding of the corporate and media landscape, including business, tech, and policy environments
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to shape compelling narratives
* Confident team leader with experience mentoring and developing junior talent
* Commercially minded, with an understanding of account growth and revenue drivers
