As an assistant, you'll work hands-on in the field while studying towards a Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation.
Your work will support the Adelaide Metropolitan Passenger Rail Network (AMPRN) to ensure it meets all relevant standards for safe, efficient, and reliable operation.
* Perform tasks including excavation, concrete works, fencing, paving, and vegetation management.
* Maintain station and corridor presentation through graffiti removal, litter collection, and minor facility repairs.
* Participate in planned network shutdowns, working before the first and after the last train.
* Support rail maintenance activities through safe operation of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
* Assist with track, platform and facility upgrades.
* Comply with all rail safety and environmental standards, acting as Track Protection Officer where required.
* Contribute to site setup, planning, and team coordination for daily tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Gaining experience in a maintenance, construction, or civil infrastructure environment is essential.
Developing hands-on skills in labouring roles, including the use of tools, plant, and equipment, is also crucial.
Understanding safety, quality, and environmental compliance in construction or maintenance settings is vital.
Flexible working hours, including night shift and weekends, are also a must.
A Rail Safety Worker Category 1 medical assessment is required.
