Job Description – Interior Designer
Building & Interior Design Studio
About the studio
We're a building design and interior design practice delivering residential & commercial projects, with a focus on thoughtful design, clear documentation, and a high-quality client experience as the business continues to evolve.
Our studio works closely across building and interiors, and we value practical, buildable design outcomes alongside strong client relationships.
The role
We're seeking an Interior Designer to replace an existing interiors team member and take ownership of interiors delivery across active building design projects.
This is a client-facing role from day one, supporting both the interior design scope and the wider building design workflow. The successful candidate will be confident managing interiors packages with light Director support during transition, and increasing autonomy over time.
The role offers flexibility in days worked and genuine scope to grow into a senior or leadership position as the interiors side of the business develops.
Key responsibilities
* Deliver interiors packages on live building design projects
* Space planning and interior layouts coordinated with building design
* Preparation of interiors documentation, schedules, and details
* Client-facing interiors meetings, including layouts, finishes, and selections
* Clear visual communication of design intent
* Coordination with consultants, suppliers, and the internal project team
* Support the building design team where interiors and architecture overlap
* Contribute to improving interiors systems, templates, and workflows over time
About you
You are someone who:
* Is comfortable owning interiors delivery on projects
* Is confident communicating directly with clients
* Understands how interiors are documented and built
* Enjoys the technical and coordination side of interiors, not just styling
* Is organised, reliable, and proactive
* Works well in a collaborative, studio-based environment
Skills & experience
* Proven experience delivering interiors projects beyond concept stage
* Strong space planning and joinery thinking
* Competence in interiors documentation and scheduling
* Experience working directly with clients
* Proficiency in Revit (or equivalent BIM software)
* Experience with Figma and practice management systems (e.g. Accelo) is an advantage
* Openness to introducing improved tools or workflows is welcomed
Employment details
* Part-time or full-time (minimum 3 days per week if part-time)
* Primarily studio-based, with limited work-from-home flexibility
* Immediate or short-term start preferred
* Salary commensurate with experience and days worked
How to apply
Please submit:
* Your CV
* A portfolio demonstrating delivered or documented interiors projects (not just concept or styling work).
