About the Opportunity
A part‑time opportunity is available for a Consultant Psychiatrist with a special interest in psychological trauma to join the Psychological Trauma Recovery Service (PTRS). This role sits within a major tertiary health service providing statewide trauma‑focused mental healthcare. The position involves 17.5 hours per week ongoing, with an additional 3.5 hours available to 30/06/2027.
About PTRS
PTRS is a statewide specialist service providing treatment for:
* Veterans
* Current serving ADF personnel
* Emergency service workers (Police, Fire, Ambulance)
* First responders
* TAC‑covered patients
The inpatient unit (Ward 17) is a 20‑bed open psychiatric ward predominantly for voluntary patients. Beds are funded through a mix of DVA and private insurers. The service delivers comprehensive assessment, evidence‑based trauma treatment, and coordinated recovery‑oriented care.
You will work within a skilled multidisciplinary team including consultant psychiatrists, registrars, nursing staff, occupational therapists, social workers, welfare workers and allied staff.

Requirements:
* AHPRA Specialist Registration
* FRANZCP or equivalent
