About Our Client
This high-security facility offers secure and residential accommodation for both high and low-security individuals. With a capacity to house approximately 500 residents, the medical department provides primary healthcare services that align with community standards. Nurses work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver a broad range of services—from emergency and primary care to chronic disease management and preventative health. This dynamic and fulfilling environment allows nurses to play a pivotal role in supporting individuals throughout their time in the facility.
What You Will Be Doing
- Deliver safe, professional nursing care in line with relevant standards, codes, and legislation.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess patients and provide comprehensive care.
- Utilise your clinical expertise to plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care for each patient.
- Support patients through health changes, applying your nursing knowledge to respond promptly and effectively.
- Ensure your practice remains current and within your professional scope.
What You Will Need
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- A valid National Police Check (Ability to pass a corrective clearance check)
- Proof of vaccinations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Chickenpox, Hepatitis B, and Whooping Cough
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training; ALS preferred
You will also need to complete the required Queensland Health training, which includes:
- Safe blood transfusion practices
- Child Protection Awareness
- Code of conduct and cultural awareness
- Cyber safety and fire training
- Fraud prevention and hand hygiene
- Infection control and medication safety
- Managing occupational violence and safe patient handling
- Responding to domestic and family violence
- Workplace health, safety, and wellbeing induction
