Experienced Community Dietitian required for this publicly funded service in the Northern Territory. You will join a small team of allied health clinicians and manage the growing dietetic caseload in four remote Aboriginal communities in the Big Rivers Region.
* 13th January for three months
* Locum rates up to $75 per hour + super
* Accommodation and travel reimbursement
* Return travel reimbursed up to $1200 and free accommodation for locums
* Car available for occasional local use
Responsibilities
* Manage a mixed paediatric and adult caseload, predominantly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background, focusing on paediatric growth support, adult malnutrition, type 2 diabetes and general metabolic conditions.
* Deliver dietetic support to individuals or families; facilitate group sessions where required.
* Conduct short trips (one‐day, one night, or two nights) to remote communities; maximum two different communities per week; no trips on Fridays.
* Provide stakeholder education, update resources in remote clinics, and assist the Public Health Nutritionist/Dietitian(s) with Market Basket Surveys (MBS) in remote stores.
* Perform case management, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with an allied health team that includes OTs, Speech Pathologists, Social Workers, Physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants, and a Team Leader.
* Travel to remote communities in the Big Rivers region by 4WD or light aircraft with overnight stays during weekdays; own room will be provided in staff or commercial accommodation.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Eligible for APD status; overseas trained candidates must have been assessed before applying.
* Comfortable with small planes, driving, and overnight travel.
* Experience with adults, paediatrics, community education, and case management.
