This is a permanent full‐time role as a System Engineer / Project Engineer, you will take ownership of the architecture, deployment and automation of customer projects, ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance to the business' standards. You will be expected to understand a client's environment and implement a scope of works that supports the client's business needs, leading to a secure and operational IT environment within the modern Microsoft 365 & Azure cloud stack.
Tasks & responsibilities
* Migrate, build, configure, and deploy environments across AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365, and other supported platforms.
* Integrate cloud, network, and on‐premises infrastructure with various third‐party services.
* Design and document infrastructure solutions (cloud, network, on‐prem). Align solutions with client requirements, budget, and compliance obligations.
* Provide support and guidance to the Infrastructure Team. Take ownership of final escalation point for high priority issues. Collaborate with SMEs to resolve issues as needed.
* Complete project work to provided project scope within time and cost budgets.
* Serve as the technical point of contact during implementation.
* Offer post‐deployment support and monitoring to ensure performance and stability.
* Work with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Support teams to ensure seamless delivery and support of customers.
* Collaborate with clients and provide technical guidance becoming a trusted advisor.
* Apply security best practices across cloud, network, on‐prem, and third‐party systems; ensure compliance with frameworks such as ISO27001, Essential 8, and regulatory requirements.
* Develop automation pipelines to improve deployment speed, reduce manual tasks, and minimise operational risk.
* Stay current with evolving technologies and maintain a structured certification pathway, achieving at least two new industry certifications annually.
* Ensure all project documentation, security standards, and operational processes meet compliance requirements.
Qualifications & experience
* 5+ years' experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud, network, and hybrid infrastructures – Microsoft 365 Stack / Azure / Networking (Fortinet).
* Demonstrated expertise with Azure, Microsoft 365 Stack, and other third‐party platforms, Infrastructure‐as‐Code, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
* Strong knowledge of networking, security, and identity management across hybrid environments.
* Proven experience working in project‐based delivery, ideally within an MSP or professional services context.
* Proven experience implementing solutions end‐to‐end as a project engineer or similar.
* Networking experience – Routing, Switching, Firewall.
