MBC Group aims to be a trusted partner in building surveying, accessibility and compliance and is currently in search of an Assistant Building Surveyor to be a part of our dynamic and growing organisation.
The Opportunity
We’ve secured a range of commercial development projects in office, retail, industrial, government, education, health, and aged care sectors and need to grow our team of Building Surveyors to bring these developments to life.
We are seeking applications from Assistant Building Surveyors to work on our projects across the greater Sydney and Newcastle region and be part of our growing team.
The Assistant Building Surveyor is to have exceptional initiative, motivation and communication skills, together with the will- to-learn with a progressive building surveying practice.
MBC will offer mentoring throughout the cadetship by experienced senior building surveyors. Your employment and training can be done in parallel to your part-time tertiary studies in a field relevant to the building surveying profession.
MBC shall fully support your initiative for further advancement and ambition to become an accredited certifier.
The role will;
•Progressively acquire a basic knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and legislation relative to building and development;
•Develop skills necessary to assist in the assessment, approval, inspection and certification of building development;
•Learn from those more senior and achieve in the background
•Learn the trade and then transition out in a years’ time (it is at this stage and not before that the role can run a job end to end)
•Attend meetings with clients on larger jobs for the purpose of mentorship and understanding the experience & expertise required at the next level
Qualifications & Competencies
•University graduate or attending Uni (2nd,3rd or 4th year)
•Undergraduate candidates should be currently enrolled in year 2 to 4 of the construction management degree with at least 4 days to be available in the office
