Eden Ritchie Recruitment are seeking a technically strong Senior Financial Accountant to support a Queensland Government department during the 2026–27 financial reporting cycle. This role will focus on rebuilding and enhancing the department’s financial statement model and supporting statutory reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities Rebuild and maintain a financial statement model integrating SAP ECC6 data downloads into Excel and/or Word. Support preparation of departmental financial statements, including all notes and disclosures. Ensure financial statements meet professional standards for technical accuracy and presentation. Contribute to financial accounting and asset management functions, including asset revaluations and monitoring material transactions. Provide high-level technical advice to senior management on financial reporting, asset management, and tax-related matters. Research and interpret accounting standards, legislation, and Queensland Government financial reporting requirements (including Sunshine Accounts). Support the transition of financial transactions from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA. Other duties as directed by the Manager, Financial Accounting. About You Strong experience in financial statement preparation and financial reporting within a large or complex organisation. Advanced technical accounting capability with strong Excel skills. In-depth knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Queensland Government Financial Reporting Requirements. High attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills.
