Job Description
As a Contracts Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the commercial and contractual aspects of our Major Road Infrastructure Project. This project is a critical component of Victoria's largest road infrastructure initiative, with a tier-one contractor delivering key packages.
You will be responsible for managing procurement, contract negotiation, risk management, and contract administration to ensure the successful delivery of multi-million-dollar work packages. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining contractual compliance with Alliance or D&C frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead all contractual and commercial aspects of major infrastructure delivery packages.
* Negotiate, prepare, review, and administer head contracts, subcontracts, and major supplier agreements.
* Maintain contractual compliance with Alliance or D&C frameworks.
* Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, legal teams, and external partners to resolve contract issues and claims.
* Monitor scope changes and variations, ensuring timely submission of EOTs, notices, and claims.
* Manage risk registers and support project teams with risk mitigation strategies.
* Conduct commercial reporting, cost forecasting, and budget tracking against contractual milestones.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* 10+ years' experience in contract management within the civil infrastructure or construction sector.
* Demonstrated experience managing contracts on large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, tunnels, bridges).
* Deep knowledge of commercial frameworks such as AS4000, GC21, and collaborative contracting (Alliance/D&C).
* Strong negotiation, dispute resolution, and commercial acumen.
* Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office.
* Degree qualified in Law, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
