European Vehicle Specialist Mechanic
We are seeking someone who is knowledgeable and passionate about working with European vehicles, particularly with experience in Land Rovers, Jaguar, Volkswagen / Audi Group, and BMW. Experience with Mercedes is a big plus. You must be committed to delivering exceptional standards and customer service.
Long Jetty Mechanical is seeking a skilled automotive technician to join our dedicated team. If you have working rights currently and are prepared to come and work here for a short while, sponsorship may be offered.

Our workshop specialises in complex diagnostics and repairs across European makes and models, handling everything from timing belt/chain replacements to transmission and differential overhauls.

The Opportunity:
In your role as a Vehicle Technician, you will be authorised and responsible for the following on all European makes and models of car.
- Conduct full examinations of vehicles (including vehicle health checks)
- Identify non-routine defects and faults either in the workshop or during vehicle road tests
- Technical knowledge to confidently and safely carry out repairs and maintenance of customer vehicles
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and a passion for fixing things right the first time
- Perform complex diagnostic testing and repairs on vehicles and be competent and confident with all repairs including replacement of timing chains, engine replacements and any other work required
- Repair and servicing of customer vehicles in accordance with technical standards
- Provide a knowledgeable, courteous, responsive, and efficient service to all colleagues and workshop customers
- Work closely with the front of house service team, ensuring they are kept informed of the progress on customer vehicles and fully briefed on work completed
- Discuss technical issues/works directly with customers when requested
- Offer technical advice and support as required
- Work with the wider workshop team to design and implement current methods of work to improve efficiency

About You
- Have Light Vehicle Automotive Qualification (Trade Certificate) / Level 3 / or Equivalent
- Current C class manual drivers licence
- Physically fit and able to meet manual requirements
- Ability to work within defined processes and guidelines, and to promote best practice throughout the workshop
- Be customer focused, possess good communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to a non-technical audience
- Have a first-time fix mentality, along with openness and transparency
- Committed to the development of your technical knowledge and skills
- Be a team player, whether mentoring or supporting other Technicians
- Have a passion for the industry and a desire to succeed

We have a heavy focus on repairing Land Rovers, Jaguars, VAG Group (VW, Audi, Bentley, etc.), BMW, and Skoda — senior experience with at least 5+ years with these makes is preferred; Mercedes experience would also be a positive. We do not work on other makes or models, so this is not the right opportunity if you lack experience with these brands.
