Position Purpose
The Truck Driver / Forklift & Warehouse Assistant is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of goods, operation of forklifts and general warehouse duties. The role supports timely delivery, stock handling and maintaining a safe, organised warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
Truck Driving
· Operate HR manual trucks to transport goods safely and efficiently
· Carry out local and regional deliveries as scheduled
· Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment
· Complete delivery documentation accurately (e.g. delivery dockets, run sheets)
· Conduct daily pre-start and post-trip vehicle inspections
· Ensure loads are secured in compliance with road safety regulations
Forklift & Warehouse Operations
· Operate forklifts safely to move, stack, load and unload goods
· Pick, pack and prepare orders for dispatch
· Receive, check and store incoming goods
· Assist with stock control and stocktakes
· Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organisation
· Assist with general warehouse labouring duties as required
Safety Responsibilities
· Comply with all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures
· Operate trucks and forklifts strictly in accordance with licence conditions and training
· Conduct and record pre-operational safety checks on vehicles and equipment
· Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly at all times
· Report hazards, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly
· Follow manual handling guidelines to prevent injury
· Participate in safety training, toolbox talks and safety meetings
· Maintain a strong safety-first mindset when working around others, vehicles and machinery
Skills & Experience
· Experience driving HR manual trucks
· Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment
· Sound understanding of safe load restraint and transport practices
· Good time management and organisational skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Physically capable of manual handling tasks
· Strong attention to detail and safety
Licences & Qualifications (Essential)
· Current HR (Heavy Rigid) Manual Driver Licence
· Current Forklift Licence (LF)
· Valid right to work in Australia
Desirable
· Previous warehouse or logistics experience
· Knowledge of WHS obligations in transport and warehousing
· Experience with inventory systems or basic paperwork
