We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter / Mechanic to join our team in a field service capacity, supporting site operations across a variety of plant and equipment. This role suits a proactive tradesperson who is confident working independently, conducting breakdowns, diagnostics, and repairs in the field.
The Role
* Service projects across FMG sites Christmas Creek, Eliwana, Solomon
* Solo field service role conducting breakdowns, diagnostics, and repairs
* Liaise closely with site teams to determine job priorities
* Coordinate parts and repairs with our Perth-based Parts Interpreter
* Maintain clear communication and accurate job reporting
* Field service ute, tooling, and support provided
Equipment You Will Work On
* Excavators
* VLCs
* Hydraulic winches
* Trailer-mounted reclaimers
* Trucks and various mobile plant
Skills & Qualifications
* Relevant Australian-recognised Trade Certificate
* Minimum 5+ years' experience as a Heavy Diesel Fitter/Mechanic
* Strong experience in breakdowns and fault finding
* HR unrestricted licence (essential)
* Air-conditioning (ARCtick) licence
* Mobile plant and truck experience
* Broad exposure to Japanese, American, and European trucks
* Hydraulics experience highly desirable
* Drill fitting experience highly desirable
* Full Australian working rights
