Clinical Worker (Identified) - Rockhampton
Drug Awareness Rehabilitation and Management (Drug ARM) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to reducing harms associated with alcohol and other drug use. Operating throughout Queensland and parts of New South Wales since 1980, we aim to promote flourishing communities free from the harms of alcohol and drugs through high-standard awareness, rehabilitation, and management solutions.
About the role
The Clinical Worker will operate within harm minimisation frameworks, including the National Drug Strategy 2017-2026, the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ Drug Strategy (2014-19), and the Queensland Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Service Delivery Framework 2015 (and subsequent revisions).
The responsibilities include:
1. Recognising the spectrum of substance use and stages of change.
2. Working with clients across all stages of substance use.
3. Responding to psychoactive substances, including alcohol, tobacco, licit and illicit drugs, pharmaceuticals, synthetics, and poly-drug use.
4. Considering support needs of clients and their families, including dependent children.
5. Responding to methods of use and associated risks, acknowledging evolving drug use trends.
6. Providing flexible services, including outreach and varied hours, to maximize participation.
Core components involve intake, screening, assessment, treatment planning, brief interventions, counselling (individual and group), harm reduction education, referrals, discharge planning, and post-treatment support.
