Overview
At Medibank we have unified our health services under Amplar Health. We are recruiting GPs to join the Healthdirect Helpline team, with a focus on after-hours coverage. As part of this virtual service, you will deliver consultations via phone and video, working with experienced nurses and fellow GPs to provide high-quality care across all age groups. Patients are referred following nurse triage, ensuring clinically appropriate and streamlined support.
This is a flexible chance to contribute to accessible care outside standard hours, with a supportive team and well-established systems.
Responsibilities
- Deliver virtual GP consultations by phone and video during after-hours shifts.
- Collaborate with nurses and fellow GPs to provide high-quality care across all age groups.
- Ensure clinically appropriate and streamlined support following nurse triage.
Qualifications
- Min. 3 years\' GP experience (1+ year in Australian practice).
- Comfortable with virtual consults and digital collaboration.
- Private home office with reliable internet (min. 50 Mbps down / 20 Mbps up) via Cable or NBN.
Role Details
- Work from home with full tech setup.
- Part-time or full-time (min. 0.2 FTE / 8 hours per week).
- After-hours shifts: 9:30 AM–Midnight (Mon–Sat) and all-day Sunday.
- Fixed-term contract to 30 June 2026.
