The Agricultural Business Research Institute (ABRI) has been the engine behind genetic progress in the cattle industry for more than 50 years. Today, ABRI data supports over 70 breed societies and 66 million recorded animals worldwide. Now, ABRI is entering its most ambitious chapter: transforming from a research-focused institute into a commercially agile, investor-ready agritech leader. You'll lead a team for whom this work is a shared commitment to advancing global livestock productivity and agricultural sustainability.
We are seeking a Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer to drive this transformation.
The Opportunity
This is a once-in-a-career role for an executive who can bridge science, technology, commerce and stakeholder diplomacy. Reporting to the Board, the MD/CEO will:
* Lead ABRI's commercialisation agenda, converting world-class research and data and IP assets into scalable, profitable services.
* Lead ABRI's investmentreadiness, including engagement with prospective investors, as well as capital and commercial partners, securing agreements that fuel growth and global expansion.
* Balance powerful stakeholders, from government and industry partners to primary producers and breed societies.
* Champion innovation, ensuring ABRI's products and platforms stay at the cutting edge of genetics, data and agricultural technology.
* Represent ABRI globally, building high-trust relationships across industry, government and research nationally and internationally.
About You
You are a seasoned executive who combines commercial acumen with the ability to engage credibly with both primary production stakeholders and global investors. Your track record includes:
* Driving transformation and growth in complex organisations.
* Converting research or data-driven assets into profitable services.
* Building investor confidence through capital raising or strategic partnerships.
* Managing diverse and sometimes competing stakeholder priorities with integrity and skill.
* Appreciation of genetic technologies in agriculture, and the ability to engage effectively with primary production stakeholders as a distinct and vital group.
