This is a leadership role that offers the opportunity to contribute to governance, fundraising, and advocacy. As a Director, you will provide strategic input and support the financial sustainability of an organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure accountability and compliance for the organisation.
* Sustain the financial health of the organisation through leveraging networks and partnerships.
* Promote the interests of people with lived experience and their families as an ambassador and champion.
* Contribute specialist expertise in areas such as legal, finance, justice system, fundraising, social services, or communications.
Requirements
* A commitment to social justice and the organisation's mission.
* An understanding of not-for-profit governance principles.
* Skills in at least one area of specialist knowledge.
* The ability to advocate, fundraise, and represent the organisation externally.
Time Commitment
This is a voluntary role requiring approximately 6-8 hours per month for Board meetings, reading, and committees. Additional time contribution in your area of expertise is also expected.
