Position Overview
This is a Fixed Term and Permanent Part Time appointment at up to 64 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extensions and permanency. The role is for an After Hours Clinical Nurse Manager at Karratha Health Campus in the Pilbara.
Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate a multi‐disciplinary team to ensure the provision of safe, high‐quality clinical care and appropriate use of resources at Karratha Health Campus.
* Lead the management of human and material resources and environmental safety to provide safe and cost‐effective after‐hours care.
* Act as the designated local coordinator of Emergency Management for the hospital during after‐hours until the appointed response coordinator arrives.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated well‐developed clinical, managerial and leadership skills.
* Ability to coordinate and manage human and material resources and achieve agreed strategic outcomes.
* Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution.
* Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in delivering evidence‐based nursing care within the relevant practice setting.
* Understanding of the Medicines and Poisons Act 2014, Medicines and Poisons Regulations 2016 and the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act 2010.
* Experience in applying clinical governance principles including continuous quality improvement, managing change, clinical risk management and accreditation processes.
* Computer literacy and ability to utilise information systems.
