THE ROLE
• Research and write compelling news and feature stories for our weekly print edition
• Create digital content and report breaking news for our website and social media platforms
• Taking photographs at local events and people
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders and residents
• Can be full or part-time
ABOUT YOU
• Qualified: Holding a degree in journalism or relevant industry experience would be an advantage
• Versatile: You can pivot from a hard news story to a light-hearted community profile with ease
• Accurate: You have an uncompromising eye for detail and grammar
• Driven: You thrive on deadlines and can manage multiple stories at once
• Local Heart: You understand the importance of regional news
• Equipped: You hold a current driver's licence
• Confident: You are comfortable cold calling to chase story leads and enjoy engaging with people from all walks of life
