Scope Engineering has extensive experience in the Oil and Gas, Marine and Mining sectors. Delivering a range of services in design, fabrication, machining, and repair, refurbishment, fitting and servicing of heavy machinery and equipment.

About the role
* Maintain a safe, positive and enthusiastic workplace culture
* Ensure the machine shop and workshop equipment is maintained in a clean and efficient manner
* Oversee the coordination and scheduling of projects to ensure all deliverables are met on time, while managing resources effectively to maintain project timelines
* Interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Set up, program, and operate CNC machines (milling and/or turning) including select tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters to optimise performance
* Support and assist with all quality-related requirements, ensuring that products meet client specifications and compliance standards, including but not limited to ensuring work is completed to tight tolerances, on time, and to high quality standards
* Act as a mentor and leader to the workshop team by providing training, support, and professional development opportunities. Promote a culture of continuous learning and growth among staff

Skills and experience
* Extensive experience as a machinist in a precision engineering environment
* Proven CNC programming and operating experience (e.g. Fanuc or similar)
* Interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
* CAD/CAM experience
* Experience in low-volume, high-precision or complex components
* Fitting experience
* Experience with onsite machining
