An opportunity for an Area Sales Manager – HV, Distribution Utilities has presented, and this is a rare chance for you to join this well-established team in Australia due to the recent retirement of a key member of the senior sales team.
How you will make an impact
* Act as the Subject Matter Expert with Power Utilities, EPCs, OEMs, in leading the sales phase from opportunity to closure.
* Oversee the technical and commercial discussions and negotiations with the customers providing power product solutions.
* Participate in detailed briefings with customers on technical, contractual, and commercial content of proposals, providing information on the risk review process.
* Prepare and support preparation of comprehensive technical and commercial tenders based on customer specification requirements.
* Guide the respective proposal teams and internal partners in preparation of the proposals.
* Deliver demonstrations and technical meetings/webinars with the customers to showcase the clients' HV products and solutions .
* Help develop, plan and implement a regional sales/business strategy for the Distribution Utilities Business Unit.
* Conduct risk mitigation, evaluate market conditions, gather market intelligence, prepare market plans, sales forecasts, and reports.
* Increases existing sales by implementing sales strategies to develop new business opportunities and continuously improves sales processes.
Your background
* Degree in electrical engineering, or similar related field.
* 8 years plus experience with a high-level understanding of the electrical engineering industry and strong technical knowledge of High Voltage Distribution and Power, i.e. Switchgear Power Products .
* Candidates who can demonstrate a sound technical background in electrical engineering, e.g., an electrical project engineer seeking a step up, may be considered depending on their work experience and technical knowledge.
* Essential is experience of working in the Australian market with proven relationships with Utilities, EPCs, DSOs and other related clients.
* Self‑motivated and can work autonomously with demonstrated consulting and sales skills.
* First class communication skills along with interpersonal and negotiation skills with high commercial and business acumen.
* If you have worked in a large, matrix structure organisation, you will transition well into this role.
* You must have full working rights in Australia .
