About the Role
The Environmental Approvals Specialist plays a pivotal role in securing and maintaining our license to operate across multiple sites. They report directly to the SHEQ Director and are responsible for environmental approvals, working closely with the Land Management Team.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement environmental plans for Tronox sites
* Assist with land management tasks, including relinquishment preparations
* Serve as a technical expert for environmental approvals, closures, and regulatory matters
* Pursue opportunities for continuous improvement in closure requirements
* Collaborate with Operations to deliver sustainable footprints for greenfield projects
* Ensure compliance with cultural heritage requirements
* Support mine closure activities
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Essential Criteria
* Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
* Demonstrated experience in obtaining and managing environmental approvals
* Sound knowledge of WA and/or NSW mining regulations
* Minimum 10 years' experience in environmental management and leadership, including 5 years in mining
* Ability to travel regularly to operational sites
* Full working rights in Australia with no restrictions
Desirable Skills
* Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement
* Skilled in EIA, mine closure planning, and EMP development
* Knowledgeable in heritage and cultural heritage approvals
* Success in project management, stakeholder engagement, and community consultation
* Experience in environmental risk assessment and sustainability initiatives
