Established in 2019, Koa Capital is a private credit firm specialising in structured real estate lending across Australia. Since inception, Koa has advanced close to $500 million across more than 250 loans and currently manages approximately $150 million in funds under management. The Role
You will work closely with senior team members across origination, credit, and portfolio management to support the execution and ongoing management of loan facilities across the full transaction lifecycle.
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership, and is looking to build broad experience across private credit in a commercial and growing business.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with credit assessment and due diligence on new lending opportunities
* Support preparation of credit papers, investment memos, and deal summaries
* Monitor existing loans, including covenant tracking, borrower reporting, arrears, and general portfolio oversight
* Monitor, engage, and manage relationships within the loan management process, including with borrowers, brokers, investors, and relevant service providers
* Assist with arrears management, loan workouts, and follow‐up actions where required
* Support internal accounts administration and broader operational processes
* Contribute to improving and implementing internal processes, controls, and reporting frameworks
* Support the wider team across a range of strategic and operational workstreams as the business continues to grow
About You
We are looking for someone who combines strong analytical capability with commercial awareness, sound judgement, and strong relationship skills.
You will ideally be someone who thrives in a fast‐paced and demanding environment, enjoys taking ownership, and is motivated by the opportunity to contribute within a small team where your input is genuinely valued. You will be comfortable working across multiple priorities and confident engaging with stakeholders as part of ongoing loan management and portfolio monitoring.
You Will Ideally Bring
* At least 2 years' experience in credit management or a similar role within mortgage lending or private credit
* Experience in the private lending industry (highly regarded)
* Exposure to loan management, portfolio monitoring, arrears management, or servicing‐related functions (highly regarded)
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills with excellent attention to detail
* A genuine interest in process improvement and helping build scalable internal systems within a growing private credit platform
Qualifications
* A degree in banking, finance, business, or a related field will be favourably considered
