The Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) are looking for a suitable Allied Health Professional candidate to join our dynamic team in providing quality service for families of children under 5 based in the North West Parenting Centre in Tasmania.

The North West encompasses Circular Head to West Coast to Devonport Surrounds and King Island. The North West of Tasmania is a beautiful area, surrounded by gorgeous beaches, walking tracks, mountain bike tracks, wineries, cafes / restaurants.

The CHaPS Allied Health Professional is responsible for:

* Providing therapeutic Psychological or Social Work services to families with children under 5 years of age within a primary health care framework in accordance with the philosophy of CHaPS, Agency policy, legal requirements, and the Code of Ethics of the appropriate professional body (e.g., Australian Psychological Society [APS] or Australian Association of Social Workers [AASW])
* Utilising evidence-based and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
* Providing evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions to clients of CHaPS and their families.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, part time, day worker position working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

* Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Salary: $110,425 - $121,907 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

* Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
* Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

* Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

1. Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
2. Current Working with Children Registration
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

1. Current Driver’s Licence
2. Experience in therapeutic counselling, children and families and/or perinatal and infant mental health

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
1. crimes of violence
2. sex related offences
3. serious drug offences
4. crimes involving dishonesty
1. Identification check
2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
