About the role
We are seeking a motivated General Labourer (Operations Technician) to join our Turf Team within Parks & Gardens. This role is perfect for someone wanting to start a career in the horticulture or turf industry – no prior experience required. You'll learn the foundations of turf care and sports field maintenance, with opportunities to progress toward formal qualifications and potentially become a qualified horticulturist or turf sports manager in the future.
A typical day includes
* Mowing and maintaining parks, verges and sports fields
* Carrying out general park and grounds maintenance
* Clearing litter and debris
* Operating and maintaining a range of tools, machinery and turf equipment
* Learning safe and effective work practices on the job
About you
* Demonstrate a genuine passion and the resilience required for physical work outdoors.
* Ability to work in a team or unsupervised while taking pride and working safely to produce great outcomes for the community.
* Physically fit and have a "can‐do" attitude.
Essential criteria
* General schooling to Year 10 or 12 and/or relevant experience.
* A SafeWork NSW white card (general construction induction card).
* Current driver's licence.
* Successful completion of ChemUse Certification within the first 3 months.

Salary range
