About the Role
* The primary responsibility is to provide support to service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook. This includes preparing daily meals and beverages that meet individual needs of each resident including special dietary requirements, allergies, and culturally specific instructions as provided by the Chef or Cook.
* Maintaining environmental service standards and ensuring a safe and clean living environment for residents are essential tasks.
* Fully adhering to the National Food Safety Program at all times, including completing food safety records and preventing cross contamination, is crucial.
Requirements
* Effective interpersonal communication skills are essential, both written and verbal.
* Able to prioritise workloads effectively.
* Commitment to continuous quality improvement is necessary.
* Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control is required.
* Able to operate standard domestic and industrial equipment.
* Previous experience with Australian food safety standards is desirable.
* Demonstrated experience in food preparation and food safety is an advantage.
* A Food Handling Certificate is highly desirable.
