The Financial Accountant role is a varied and hands-on position within a supportive finance team. The individual will play a key role as part of a collaborative Finance team based at the Newcastle office.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced accounting professional who enjoys a transactional role. They will have confidence in preparing and lodging Business Activity Statements (BAS) and managing other tax-related tasks, including completing bank and general ledger reconciliations, financial journals, and credit card acquittals.
The Financial Accountant will have strong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing payroll and accounts payable prior to payment runs. They will also be able to assist in the preparation of monthly reports and annual statutory accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation and Lodgement of BAS
* Completion of Bank and General Ledger Reconciliations
* Management of Other Tax-Related Tasks
* Assistance with Monthly Reports and Annual Statutory Accounts Preparation
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a degree in Accounting or Business (or currently working towards one) and a current Working With Children Check (WWCC). They will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent organisational and communication skills, a sharp eye for detail, and a genuine drive to improve processes and collaborate with others.
