Geological Field Assistant
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to provide support to our Mungari Resource Development, Open Pit and Underground Geology teams. This varied role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can quickly learn technical skills and has personal abilities to deliver responsibilities.
* Collect geological samples from suitable sites, mark samples, note locations and dispatch to laboratory as appropriate.
* Prepare site appropriately, including field setup, gridding, clearing, supervision of sump digging, track clearing, drill pad setup and building of causeways.
* Collect drilling samples as directed, split as required and dispatch to laboratory.
* Complete marking up of core, geotechnical logging, and specific gravity determinations.
* Monitor field equipment and vehicles and arrange servicing or repairs as required.
* Complete site rehabilitation duties, including supervision of contractors, filling in sumps, ripping compacted areas, and collar cutting and plugging.
* Ensure that all field equipment is stored securely and maintained in good condition.
* Encourage, participate and assist to implement continuous improvement in all work-related activities.
This position requires residing locally to Kalgoorlie or being willing to permanently relocate. Relocation support can be provided. The roster is a continuous 9:5 (10-hour day) roster.

About You
* 3+ years' experience working in exploration, underground or open pit mining operations is highly desirable but not essential.
* Ability to work outside, in all weather conditions, all year round, is essential.
* Current manual drivers license is essential.
* Good data entry abilities and general confidence with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel).
* Reading and interpreting maps and photographs.
* Previous experience using a GPS and Differential GPS Units is highly desirable.
* Strong communication skills and a desire to work in an assistant oriented capacity.
* High level of organisational and time management skills.
* Be physically fit, with a positive can-do attitude.
