The Role
Leonora DHS is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Physical Education teacher. The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons from year 1 to Year 12There are 2 high school classes (Year 7 to 8 class and a 9 to 12 class). All classes have a small number of students.
The successful applicant should possess high standards of professionalism and will ideally work collaboratively with the Specialist Team. Ideally, you will plan and implement a high standard of health and physical education instruction and events for Leonora students. Experience with On-Country Learning and planning curriculum is highly regarded.
You should be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to building positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community. Your teaching should reflect our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and a sound knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum.
You will support the development of team skills through interschool event training, leading up to interschool carnivals. The successful applicant should work with our leadership team to plan and lead carnivals, including athletics and cross country, and interschool winter, swimming carnivals.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Leonora District High School in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary of $7 000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Mobility and Eligibility
Mobility appointments for permanent, metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
