As part of the energy transition, we need experienced engineers to undertake essential design & construction services for critical infrastructure. UGL has a great record in completing renewable sector-associated projects, including solar farms, battery energy storage systems, transmission lines, substations, and electrical distribution.

The successful candidate will manage the project design and scope from tender, through delivery to practical completion, ensuring that the designs are completed on time, in compliance with customer requirements, with maximum efficiency in the use of company resources and maximum profitability. This role will be based in Perth.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and maintain the Design Plan for the duration of the project.
* Ensure that all elements of the design are coordinated between all design team members.
* Monitor the adequacy and effectiveness of design resources allocated to the project.
* Ensure that all necessary reviews, verifications, and validations are planned and conducted, and the outcomes of these are incorporated into the design.
* Ensure that the design conforms to all safety, environmental, construction, commissioning, and operating requirements.
Requirements
The following qualifications and experience are highly desired:
* 4-year degree qualification to Bachelor status in Engineering.
* Engineering degree in Electrical or Civil/Structural preferred.
* Prior experience managing large utilities projects (High Voltage substation and/or transmission lines experience) will be highly regarded.
* Strong leadership skills.
* Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
