The role: A leading, fast-growing financial services group is seeking an experienced Senior Credit Officer to join its Melbourne based credit team. Key responsibilities: Conducting detailed credit assessments on allocated residential, commercial, SMSF and construction applications Providing clear recommendations to Delegated Lending Authority holders Identifying and escalating potential fraud risks Maintaining high-quality data standards and documentation Applying sound judgement to identify and manage operational and credit risk Ensuring adherence to credit policy, regulatory guidance and legal requirements Building effective relationships with internal stakeholders to support strong outcomes Contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team culture Supporting activities across the organisation’s global entities The ideal background: 2–4 years’ experience in lending or credit assessment, with exposure to residential, commercial, SMSF and construction lending Tertiary qualifications (preferred) Ability to work autonomously with strong self-motivation A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a genuine “can-do” attitude Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail Ability to adapt quickly, learn on the fly, and perform under pressure Commitment to integrity, teamwork, fairness and continuous improvement Why this role?
