An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trade Execution Officer within a well-established agricultural trading company. Based in southern Sydney, we supply a broad range of grains and stockfeed to domestic and international markets. You will be joining a small, collaborative team of grain traders in a fast-paced commercial environment.
We are seeking an organised, proactive and detail-focused individual to support our trading team. In this role, you will ensure contracts are executed accurately and stakeholders receive clear and professional communication throughout the execution process.
Key Responsibilities
* Contract Execution & Administration
o Execute and manage physical purchase and sale contracts in line with agreed commercial terms.
o Ensure all contract obligations (quantity, quality, delivery windows, pricing terms) are met on time.
o Manage the distribution, collection and filing of compliance documentation (CVDs, vendor declarations, test results, etc.).
o Perform daily and weekly contract reconciliations across tonnes, movements, and pricing.
o Assist traders with positions, exposure updates and contract status reporting.
* Logistics & Transport Coordination
o Monitor movements from pickup to delivery and resolve any issues proactively.
o Work closely with storage sites, feedlots, and ports to ensure smooth execution.
o Assist the Trading Manager with day‑to‑day management and implementation of purchasing and sales strategies.
o Maintain clear and professional communication with growers, consumers, brokers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
o Build strong relationships across the supply chain to ensure smooth operations.
o Adopt a flexible approach with customers to accommodate any changes in customer grain demand within reason via regular communication.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in commodity logistics, contract execution, grain accumulation, or a similar operations role (preferred but not essential).
* Applications from graduates who are eager to learn and grow within the grain industry are welcomed.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with growers, customers and freight partners.
* High level of organisation, accuracy, and accountability.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to spot errors and solve problems quickly.
* Self‑motivated individual who enjoys working in a trading environment.
* Intermediate Excel or database skills (advantageous).
