We are seeking a Trade Qualified Electrician with strong Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) experience to join our Electrical Maintenance team at one of Australia’s largest mining operations.
This role is key to maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising fixed plant electrical and control systems across the operation.
You will be a proactive, safety-focused professional with excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct electrical and instrumentation inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance on fixed plant equipmentFault-find and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation breakdownsProvide technical support for process control systems, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of SCADA platforms and PLC logicDiagnose faults, analyse control performance, optimise PLC programs, and maintain reliable communication between field devices and control systemsSupport system upgrades, improve control logic, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with site standards and safety requirementsMaintain and repair HV & LV motors, variable speed drives, soft starters, PLCs, conveyor systems, and ABB systemsTest equipment before, during, and after repairs, maintenance, and rebuildsWork collaboratively with other trades and operational teams to achieve production targets safely.
About You:
Current Queensland Electrical Licence (or ability to obtain).Minimum Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.Experience in installation of electrical equipment and general plant electrical skillsDemonstrated LV and HV switching and maintenance experience Previous experience in mining, heavy industry, or similar environments preferredStrong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read parts diagrams, circuit diagrams, and wiring schematicsHigh regard for safety, risk management, and quality workmanship.Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and with PLC systems (Siemens/Allen Bradley) highly regarded.
