Description
Are you passionate about turning data into actionable insights that drive better business outcomes? We are seeking a Business Analyst to modernise and optimise our operational and client reporting capabilities. This is a key role that will support the evolution of our data reporting frameworks and foster a data-driven culture across the organisation.
As the Business Analyst, you'll be at the heart of our reporting transformation efforts. You will design and deliver intuitive dashboards, streamline reporting processes, and partner with stakeholders to meet business needs through data. Your work will directly influence strategic planning and operational efficiency across the company.
This role is an initial 12-month max term contract with the potential for permanent conversion. We are open to candidates based in either Melbourne or Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and automation of operational reports and dashboards.
* Design and deliver client reporting solutions that are accurate, clear, and consistent.
* Analyse complex datasets to support internal decision-making and external stakeholder reporting.
* Collaborate with business units to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
* Drive adoption of BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and modernise legacy reporting processes.
* Uphold data integrity and governance standards across reporting assets.
* Create documentation and training resources to enable self-service reporting across the business.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational data utilisation.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* 3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst or Reporting Analyst role, ideally in operational or client-facing environments.
* Strong practical experience with Power BI or similar BI/data visualisation tools.
* Proven ability to manage and analyse large, complex datasets from multiple systems.
* Skilled in data analysis, mapping, and automation.
* A sound understanding of data governance and quality principles.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* High attention to detail with a focus on delivering quality, actionable insights.
* Tertiary qualifications in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related fields (desirable).
* Experience with SQL or other querying languages (desirable).
* Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Azure, Snowflake, or AWS (desirable).
* Exposure to change management and rolling out BI tools across organisations (desirable).
