The Opportunity
Due to continued growth and internal promotion, Wild Desert is seeking skilled Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic Supervisors to join our team in Roma and Moomba on a 2/2 Roster.
As a Diesel Mechanic Supervisor, you will play an integral part of the Wild Desert maintenance team. The Diesel Mechanic Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all repairs and maintenance are completed to the highest standard and adhere to Wild Desert's Preventative Maintenance System and Quality Management System.
Key responsibilities
* Responsible for ensuring that the Trade Teams are organised daily and understand what their tasks are as per the documented work plans
* Adhere to all scheduled Work Plans and supervise Trades Team to do the same
* Collaborate with Stores, Purchasing and your Trade, Business Operation Officer to ensure correct parts and equipment are available
* Travel to rig sites and depots that align with work plan and ensure all work is completed at a high standard and in a timely manner
* Perform routine maintenance and servicing on a range of heavy‑duty equipment
* Identify and resolve complex mechanical issues
* Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related components
* Ensure that accurate records are kept
* Complete work tasks as assigned in Business Management System
What we're looking for
* Qualified Diesel Mechanic with at least 5 years' experience with demonstrated leadership skills or previous Supervisor experience.
* Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
* Utilise your technical skills and expert mechanical knowledge to provide training and support for teams.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ensure good leadership is demonstrated at all times and team's morale remains high.
* Commitment to safety and quality standards.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
* Oil and Gas Field experience is favourable but not essential.
