About this Position:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to join our Roads and Infrastructure team. The primary function of this role is to deliver high-quality civil engineering design and contributing to the successful management of civil infrastructure projects. The role ensures that projects are planned and executed to meet required specifications, timelines, and budgets by applying best-practice design principles and technical expertise.

What we trust you to deliver:
* Produce high‑quality civil design drawings, specifications, and contract documentation for roads, stormwater drainage, and associated infrastructure.
* Conduct technical investigations, prepare reports, Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, and ensure all designs comply with Council standards, legislation, and Australian Standards.
* Document design processes in project‑specific reports, capturing key risks, maintenance requirements, and other critical information.
* Manage and undertake surveying, detailed design, cost estimation, and pre‑construction activities for capital works projects, including geometric, structural and pavement design, service relocations, and environmental considerations.
* Support project delivery by collating survey data, preparing construction plans, applying relevant design guidelines (Austroads, RTA, etc.), and mentoring engineering assistants or trainees.
What you will need to be successful:
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering recognized by the Institute of Engineers Australia or significant experience in a related field
* Current Class C Driver's Licence.
* General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
* Demonstrated extensive experience and knowledge in civil design and infrastructure projects. This includes the preparation of quality designs, BOQ and cost estimates.
* Experience in the use of design software Autodesk Products for the preparation of civil design and documentation or 12D, CivilCAD, Magnet etc
* Knowledge of relevant best practice design standards (e.g. WSUD), statutory requirements and relevant Australian Standards in civil design
* Evidence of a high level of analytical and problem-solving skills, especially regarding resolving civil infrastructure problems in design

Salary: starts at $93,918
