As we move into our next phase of growth — including team expansion — we are seeking a commercially capable and people-focused General Manager to help lead the business at a senior level.
The Opportunity
This is a true second-in-command role.
You will take ownership of the operational engine of the business, ensuring all departments operate cohesively, profitably, and with clear accountability.
Leadership and integration across:
* Finance and reporting
* Systems (Simpro)
* Administration and people performance
Your mandate is simple but significant: build a scalable structure that protects margins, drives performance, and enables the Managing Director to focus on strategy, growth, and key relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
* Oversee all project delivery to ensure jobs are completed safely, on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
* Maintain visibility across scheduling, labour allocation, and capacity forecasting.
* Establish consistent performance standards across Project Managers and field teams.
* Partner with Finance to monitor profitability, cash flow, and cost controls.
* Drive margin improvement initiatives.
* Create clear reporting dashboards and performance visibility.
Business Integration
* Align Operations, Finance, HR, Systems, Sales, and Administration into one cohesive operating model.
* Remove silos and implement clear communication rhythms.
* Act as the primary internal escalation point.
Systems & Process
* Embed full Simpro utilisation across departments.
* Standardise SOPs to support growth and future team expansion.
* Identify automation and efficiency opportunities.
Leadership & Culture
* Develop Project Managers and emerging leaders.
* Build a high-performing leadership team.
* Translate strategic direction into clear operational execution.
What You Will Bring
* Senior leadership experience within construction, building, or trade-based industries.
* Strong commercial acumen and experience managing P&L performance.
* Proven ability to integrate multiple departments into a cohesive operating structure.
* Experience driving operational systems and process improvement.
* High-level people leadership and accountability capability.
* Confidence to operate as a genuine second-in-command.
* Simpro experience is highly regarded.
