Coal Quality Tester (12 month contract) | Gladstone Laboratory
We are currently seeking a Coal Quality Tester to join our team full-time at our Gladstone Laboratory. This is a local opportunity ideal for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys being part of a strong, supportive team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining our standards for Quality, Turnaround Time, Client Service, and Productivity .
About The Role
This is an 12 month contract position for ALS Coal based in Clinton, Gladstone. It's a great opportunity for someone looking to start or grow their career in the coal testing and laboratory services industry. For the right candidate, this role offers long-term career potential .
Your responsibilities will include working within both the Physical Testing and Analytical Laboratories, with occasional work at the port sampling sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Receive and collect coal samples
* Laboratory day to day duties
* Conduct sample preparation and analytical testing
* Perform manual handling of buckets and drums
* Enter and validate test data accurately
* Maintain laboratory equipment
* Occasionally work at port sampling locations
What We're Looking For
* Strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork
* Tafe certificate, diploma or degree would be highly regarded
* 1-2 years experience in a Laboratory
* Great attention to detail and ability to multi-task
* Good organisational and communication skills
* Reliable, trustworthy, and eager to learn
* Manual Driver's Licence is required
* Previous industry experience is a plus, but not essential
* Ability to pass medical
