This role can be offered on a 8 days on 6 days off roster as either residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie OR FIFO from Perth. Bus transportation is offered to and from site for residential candidates.
About the Role
You will join a team dedicated to advancing exploration targets from generative projects, through resource definition drilling, and ultimately to handover for production. Our exploration spans a diverse range of deposit styles, host lithologies, and structural complexities, offering a broad and valuable range of experiences for those early in their careers.
- Extensive fieldwork including working remotely and independently on drill rigs to ensure drill programs are completed efficiently and effectively;
- Comprehensive geological and structural logging of Diamond Core and RC/AC chips;
- Section and map updates with drilling information;
- Digital input and validation of logging information;
- Sample selection for analysis; QAQC planning and evaluation;
- Daily liaising with drill contractor's, tracking of drilling and sample dispatch;
- Working with geological and geophysical datasets to assist in interpretation of drilling results.
About you:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology (honours preferred)
- Previous exploration experience in orogenic gold systems is highly desirable
- Valid manual Driver's Licence
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and exposure to relevant GIS, database and 3D software highly regarded
- Be self-driven and motivated to learn new skills and develop yourself as a professional Geologist

This was further bolstered by the acquisition of the Granny Smith and Lawler’s gold mines from Barrick Gold in October 2013.
In November 2016, Gold Fields formed a 50 per cent joint venture agreement with Gold Road for the Gruyere deposit, which is mined as an open pit, with production commencing in 2019.
