Biomedical Engineering Technician/Engineer role based in Darwin. Full-time permanent position. Electro-medical equipment servicing experience is preferred. A current driver's license is essential. Previous Biomedical Engineering experience is highly valued. We may consider training local NT applicants with verifiable electronics qualifications and experience in remote servicing and workshop repairs.

Medical Equipment Management Australia Pty Ltd is the leading provider of specialist technical services to the healthcare, government and NGO sectors in the NT. We have been established in the Northern Territory for 30 years this year.
MEM's team has a staff of 15 highly skilled and caring people located between Darwin and Alice Springs, and we are responsible for the ongoing serviceability of approximately 50% of the NT's healthcare equipment assets, both government and private.
Responsibilities
* Mentor clinical staff and troubleshoot, repair and perform scheduled maintenance on a range of electromedical, dental, scientific, autoclave, audiometric, veterinary, medical IT, imaging, gas therapy equipment and AS3003 patient areas throughout the Top End of the Northern Territory.
* Based in our head office in Winnellie, with a roster to travel in pairs by 4WD and light aircraft to remote and very remote community health centres. May also visit Alice Springs to support the team there as required.
* Minimise operational downtime through preventative maintenance and servicing; ensure that operational requirements and relevant Australian Standards are met.
* Define, diagnose and repair faulty electronic, pneumatic, robotic, and medical gases systems. Maintain IT systems; familiarity with working in a structured QA environment will be an advantage.
Qualifications and requirements
* Have previous hands-on experience in the repair and service of electronic systems; basic theory test at interview is included.
* Experience with electromedical systems and gas therapy equipment is highly regarded; specialist training will be provided where necessary.
* Verifiable tertiary, technical or trade qualification in an Electronic or Biomedical Engineering discipline. Further education to the Advanced Diploma level can be provided via remote learning where necessary.
* A minimum of 2 years industry experience in the repair and service of electro-medical equipment if you are not a current Northern Territory resident.
* Ability to enter work performed into a database in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
* Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
* Self-motivated, self-disciplined and committed to quality and continuous improvement.
* Organised and pro-active approach to work; able to work independently and as part of small teams with minimal supervision.
* Current non-restricted driver's license.
* Ability to obtain NT Working with Children (OCHRE) card, restricted electrical license, and police clearance checks.
* And above all, you must genuinely care about the well being of others and play an integral role in the NT Health system, patient outcomes and MEM team well-being.
