Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our critical tech team powering one of Australias largest healthcare providers This role is critical to the design, implementation and maintenance of secure, scalable and resilient cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments primarily focused on Microsoft Azure.
Reporting to a highly experienced IT Manager who has a wealth of knowledge on both the business and our technology you'll play a lead role in designing, implementing and maintaining secure and scalable cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions aligning infrastructure practices with key compliance frameworks such as ISM & ISO 27001.
We are open to this position being based in our Melbourne or Sydney offices as well.
Responsibilities
* Lead implementation of identity access management and compliance controls
* Monitor, optimise and secure cloud performance using automation and monitoring tools
* Maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD and related services
* Configure and manage Microsoft Defender Sentinel and other SIEM/SOAR tools
* Perform vulnerability assessments, remediation planning and incident response support
* Support secure integration between SaaS platforms including Microsoft 365 and on‑premise systems
* Provide mentorship to service desk staff and administrators across cloud and security topics
* Maintain accurate system documentation and participate in audits and governance activities
Qualifications
As a Senior Systems Engineer you'll have a strong security‑first mindset and experience managing hybrid cloud environments. You'll bring deep Azure expertise and a desire to continuously improve and secure infrastructure in a complex, evolving environment. Exposure to moving services from on‑prem to cloud will be key as you help guide our tech journey
Relevant Microsoft certifications are key as well as a strong understanding of security controls, zero trust and compliance frameworks (e.g. ISM, ISO 27001).
