The role
Trading Representative / Account Manager
We're looking for a Trading Representative / Account Manager with a talent for negotiation and building lasting relationships. You will be responsible for sourcing scrap metal from suppliers in Western Australia, playing a vital role in our mission to lead the recycling industry.
Responsibilities
- New Business Acquisition: Hunt for and secure high-volume scrap metal supply opportunities with industrial, manufacturing, and demolition clients.
- Develop and manage supplier relationships to secure used ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal.
- Negotiate pricing and terms to ensure competitive procurement within company guidelines.
- Monitor key performance metrics and collaborate with Operations and Transport teams for smooth logistics.
- Act as the main point of contact for suppliers, resolving issues and maintaining positive partnerships.
- Complete accurate monthly reports and manage costs in line with budgets.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in Account Management, Sales, or Buying roles.
- Proven track record in B2B sales, business development, or procurement (scrap metal or industrial sectors highly regarded).
- Exceptional ability to structure profitable deals and close new accounts.
- Strong commercial acumen to analyse market trends and deliver solutions-focused value to suppliers.
- Proven ability to build rapport and manage stakeholders at all levels.
