Online Community Forum Moderator – Location: Lewisham, Employment Type: Part‐time, ongoing. This role supports the Carer Gateway Forum by moderating the online community and ensuring a safe, welcoming, anonymous space for unpaid carers across Australia.
Job Details
* Work from home opportunity (NSW, VIC, QLD, TAS)
* Part‐time position – 12 hours per week (Thursday, Saturday and Sunday 8am–12pm), with occasional additional shifts
* Pay: $44.58–$47.97 plus weekend loadings, super, salary packaging (SCHADS Level 4)
Responsibilities
* Moderate the forum 7 days per week, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and anonymous environment for carers.
* Assist in the development and publishing of appropriate content for the Forum.
* Collaborate with the team to promote forum growth and support user engagement programs.
* Work on other platforms, including Facebook, to maintain community presence.
* Collect and report accurate data in accordance with contractual obligations.
* Contribute to service modifications and improvements as required.
Schedule
* Regular shifts: Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 12pm (total 12 hours per week).
* Forum operates 8am to 11pm (AEST) / 12pm (AEDT); occasional day and evening shifts may be available.
Qualifications
* Previous experience or familiarity with online community management, moderation, or social networking.
* Demonstrated understanding of conflict resolution, active listening, and risk and crisis management for vulnerable populations.
* Highly developed technical skills, with the ability to learn new technical tools quickly.
* Strong administrative abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Availability for optional additional shifts across a 7‐day roster is highly regarded.
* Experience or knowledge of working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Desirable
* Experience and/or training in counselling, mental health, or related fields.
* Lived experience as a carer is viewed favorably.
