Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
Manage staff, workflows, and technical communications support personnel and teams to ensure optimum resources for the competing requirements of repair, maintenance, and infrastructure development in the support of mission critical radio communications systems.
Develop and maintain procedures for the support of communications systems and services in accordance with relevant industry standards, Government and Department standards, policies, and procedures.
Coordinate internal technical staff and external contractors in the support of specialist communications systems and services, ensuring that service standards and configuration control are maintained.
Provide specialist technical leadership, guidance, training and mentoring of technical staff in development and maintenance of technical skills required in systems support service activities.
Coordinate with operations staff and management, negotiate, and make decisions on appropriate technical service response priorities.
Negotiate with management and senior technical staff in relation to effective staff deployment for multiple maintenance and project activities.
Role Requirements:
Mandatory -
Applicable Australian Communications Media Agency licences or a commitment to obtain the appropriate licences;
Completion of post-trades training in electronics to enable the jobholder to research and apply new techniques to moderately complex technical problems; and
Current C class drivers' licence.
Qualification
Associate Diploma in Electronics/Communications Engineering or equivalent qualification with a minimum of five (5) years industry equivalent experience
Highly Desirable
Experience with analogue/digital radio network
Experience with radio test sets
Open Cabling Registration with Structured/Coaxial Cable and Optical Fibre endorsements.
Other
This position is required to:
Undertake on-call duties, overtime and work outside normal business hours
Travel intra and inter-state as needed
